Hungarian Laughing Frogs

The hot still air across the Rother valley carries the croaking laugh of the Marsh Frog. Otherwise known as the Hungarian Laughing Frog, this species was introduced from Hungary in 1932 to a garden in Oxney and they have since become the dominant amphibian in the nearby Romney Marshes. http://www.rmcp.co.uk/FrogSound.html Listen!

The Bodiam Nursery in East Sussex is in a stunningly beautiful location situated in the Rother valley overlooking meadows, and Bodiam castle. There are organic grape vines on nearby slopes, the meadows are grazed by livestock. The wildlife is varied and prolific.
Jill and Dave Kaye took over Bodiam Nursery at the beginning of December and have begun the job of restoring the good reputation it once enjoyed. Jill Kaye has many years horticultural experience working as a professional gardener. She has been providing garden design and planting services through Crocosmia Planting and Design and her knowledge will help customers find the right plant for the right conditions.
The nursery site is being improved with the aim of refecting the quality of the plants and environment it enjoys.
We have links to a variety of pages which reflect our interest in plants suitable for coastal as well as country planting. We support local wildlife initiatives and feature some plants where biodiversity is a local issue
We are open from 10am to 5pm, everyday except Mondays.
